Turks & Caicos: Liveaboard Diving the West Caicos Walls
Turks & Caicos hides one of the Caribbean's great wall-diving secrets along its quiet western edge, where the reef simply falls away into bottomless blue. We spent a week on a liveaboard chasing that edge, logging up to five dives a day on walls so sheer and so alive they leave you grinning into your regulator.
Day by day
Days 1-2
Briefing and boarding
We started with a marine-life identification lecture to sharpen everyone's eyes for what was coming, then boarded our liveaboard and slipped away from the dock, leaving the rest of the world behind for a week built entirely around diving.
Days 3-5
The walls of West Caicos
Day after day we dropped onto the legendary walls of Northwest and West Caicos, packing in as many as five dives daily. The reef crest gives way to a vertical drop draped in sponges and sea fans, with sharks, turtles and eagle rays cruising the blue just off the wall.
Days 6-7
French Cay and farewell
We finished at remote French Cay, a tiny speck ringed by spectacular diving, squeezing in every last tank before the final countdown and a reluctant turn for home.
From the trip

Vertical walls, gin-clear water, and the luxury of diving until you simply can't anymore. The quiet western reefs of Turks & Caicos are world-class, and gloriously uncrowded.
