Ambergris Caye, Belize · November 2023
Belize Barrier Reef & Island Exploration
There is a specific kind of magic that happens when you land on the sandy airstrip of San Pedro. The air is salty, the pace is slow, and the golf carts outnumber the cars ten to one. Our November journey to Belize was more than just a dive trip; it was a deep dive into the soul of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef. With a group of 28 adventure-seekers, we took over a slice of paradise, balancing the thrill of the 'Big Blue' with the warmth of local island hospitality. From the bubbles we blew on the reef to the mud we splashed in the jungle, this was a week of pure Belizean 'Un-Belize-able' moments.
Day by day
Day 1 & 2
The Journey to San Pedro
The adventure began with flights from across the US, converging in Belize City before the iconic puddle-jumper flight over the turquoise shallows to Ambergris Caye. We settled into our beachside home-base, just steps from the water. The evening was all about reunions and new introductions over welcome drinks and appetizers, setting the stage for the week of diving ahead.
Day 3
Bubbles and Barrier Reefs
Our first day of diving took us to the world-renowned reef just offshore. We eased into the rhythm with two morning tanks and a third in the afternoon. The marine life didn't disappoint, with reef sharks and curious turtles greeting us at every turn. We wrapped up the day with a group dinner at a local favorite, enjoying the first of many island-inspired meals.
Day 4
Island Exploring via Golf Cart
After our morning dives, we traded our fins for four wheels. We set out on a group golf cart expedition to explore the northern reaches of the island. We visited the local croc pond, stopped at breathtaking remote beach areas, and converged at a unique shipping-container food park for snacks and sunset views. The day ended with a festive 'Martini Monday' and a multi-course dinner highlighting local catch and coconut-infused flavors.
Day 5
Catamarans and Marine Parks
From the trip

From the travelers
“The attention to detail and the balance of high-octane diving with genuine island culture made this one of the best trips I've ever been on. I can't wait for the next adventure.”
“Sailing back on the catamaran with a drink in hand after snorkeling with sharks is a memory I'll keep forever. Pure magic.”
Belize has a way of getting under your skin. Whether it was the silhouette of a reef shark against the deep blue, the laughter shared on a catamaran, or the quiet awe of standing atop a Mayan temple, this trip reminded us why we travel together. We didn't just see a destination; we experienced a community. Until next time, Belize, stay salty!
