Saba: Liveaboard Diving the Pinnacles

Tiny, steep and gloriously unspoiled, Saba is one of the Caribbean's best-kept secrets, and its real treasures lie underwater: a cluster of submerged pinnacles rising from the deep, teeming with sharks and pelagic life. Our group spent a liveaboard week working these legendary seamounts and the pristine reefs of the protected Saba Bank.

Day by day

Day 1

Setting out for Saba

We gathered on St Martin, boarded our liveaboard, and pointed for the dramatic green spire of Saba rising out of the sea. With the gear staged and the group buzzing, we settled in for a week built around one thing: diving.

Days 2-6

The pinnacles and the Saba Bank

Day after day we dropped onto the famous pinnacles, seamounts whose summits sit well below the surface, drawing in reef sharks, big schools and the occasional passing pelagic. Between them we explored the pristine, fiercely protected reefs of the Saba Bank, water so healthy and untouched it feels like diving back in time. Long surface intervals, good company, and that easy liveaboard rhythm filled the rest.

Days 7-8

A St Martin finale

We crossed back to St Martin to dry our gear and trade the quiet of Saba for a little island color, soaking up the beaches and easy Caribbean pace before the journey home.

Saba (Caribbean Netherlands)

Shark-patrolled pinnacles, untouched reef, and the rare thrill of diving one of the Caribbean's wildest, least-crowded corners. Saba is proof that the best dive sites are often the ones almost no one knows about.
