Luxury Savusavu Island Escape
Fiji has a way of capturing your heart before you even touch the ground. From the first 'Bula!' shared during the flight to the moment you step off the small transfer plane into the lush, green embrace of Savusavu, the energy of the islands is unmistakable. This journey was designed for those who want to disappear into 5-star luxury while remaining deeply connected to the local soul, a week of private oceanfront bures, Indo-Fijian culinary delights, and the vibrant reefs of the Koro Sea.
Day by day
Day 1-2
Chasing the Sun
Our journey began with the crossing of the International Date Line. There is something wonderfully restorative about 'losing' a day to the Pacific, knowing you'll make it up in island time soon enough. The service on our international leg set the tone, warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.
Day 3
Arrival in Savusavu
After landing in Nadi, we hopped on a short, scenic flight over the islands to Savusavu. Within minutes of landing, we were whisked away to our home for the week: a stunning property tucked between the rainforest and the reef. We settled into our Oceanfront Tropical Bures, where the sounds of the Koro Sea provided the perfect soundtrack for our first Fijian sunset.
Day 4-9
The Rhythm of the North
Our days fell into a blissful rhythm of exploration and relaxation. Some mornings were spent guided through the rainforest to hidden waterfalls, while others were dedicated to the water. The snorkeling and reef exploration here is world-class, with vibrant soft corals and a staggering diversity of marine life just a short boat ride away. Between adventures, we enjoyed the unique indoor entertainment center for some friendly bowling and billiards, and cooled off in freshwater pools. Every evening brought a different cultural touch, from social kava drinking sessions and traditional Meke performances to the hauntingly beautiful songs of a local village choir.
Day 10
The Long Goodbye
Our final day in Savusavu was spent soaking in the last views of the Koro Sea from our private decks. After a short transfer back to the airport, we returned to Nadi for a few final hours of relaxation in a premier lounge, enjoying a quiet moment of reflection on the magic of the islands before the overnight flight back home.
